Since we believe in radical transparency, we decided to go a step beyond the standard ‘made from 100% organic cotton, produced in Portugal’ approach when talking about the materials that are used to make our products.
To do this properly, and in a way that makes sense to everyone, it is important to first define what our approach to material transparency is built upon. The following factors are what we believe to be most important:
Composition:
Which raw resource a certain component of a garment is made of.
Country of Origin:
The country in which the raw material used to produce a particular garment component is grown.
Country of Manufacture:
The country in which the component of the garment is manufactured and/or assembled.
Weight:
The weight of the fabric, measured in grams per square meter (GSM).
Fabric Type:
The technique and weaving structure used in the construction of the fabric used for a particular garment component.
Dye:
The dye method which was used to color a particular garment component.
At times you will see a ‘?’ - yes, as you might have guessed already, this means that we currently do not have the information for the material fact in question. And since transparency goes both ways - aka not just being transparent about the positives, but also owning the negatives - we decided to be upfront with you about any information we are currently still missing. That being said, we are doing our best to fill any gaps we have in our supply chain transparency.

As you can see, we have gone out of our way to apply each material breakdown to every component which is used to construct our Circular T-shirts. This is important, as these components are often sourced from many different materials, countries, and suppliers.
